Alco (Asset-Liability Committee)
The Alcohol and Asset Liability Committee (AALLC) is responsible for developing and implementing the American Society for Brewing Competitions’ official rules and guidelines for alcoholic beverages competition. This committee is made up of volunteers from the brewing community and is responsible for ensuring that all competitions are conducted fairly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing competition rules: This includes setting standards for brewing, judging, and scoring, as well as addressing issues such as safety, sanitation, and eligibility.
- Reviewing and updating rules: The AALLC reviews and updates the rules annually to ensure that they are current and effective.
- Handling disputes: The AALLC has the authority to resolve disputes arising from competitions.
- Educating brewers: The AALLC provides educational resources and materials to help brewers understand the competition rules and procedures.
