BrowserStack Acquires Bird Eats Bug for $20 Million to Enhance Manual Testing Capabilities

In a strategic move aimed at consolidating its position as a leading software testing platform, BrowserStack, a SaaS unicorn, has acquired Berlin-based Bug detection and reporting platform, Bird Eats Bug, for $20 million. This acquisition is expected to integrate Bird Eats Bug’s features into BrowserStack’s ecosystem, paving the way for the introduction of Bug Capture, a cutting-edge tool for manual testing.

Founded in 2020, Bird Eats Bug specializes in empowering non-technical users to generate comprehensive bug reports, helping enterprises save valuable engineering time. The firm, which secured its seed round led by Nauta Capital in 2021, has now set its sights on even greater heights with this acquisition.

“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide developers and QA teams with a unified, seamless testing experience,” said Ritesh Arora, CEO and co-founder of BrowserStack. “We’re thrilled to welcome Bird Eats Bug into the BrowserStack family and look forward to expanding our capabilities to serve our customers better.”

BrowserStack, a cloud-based platform that powers over two million tests every day across 17 global data centers, has established itself as a leader in the software testing landscape. Apart from its presence in Mumbai, the company has a strong footprint in Dublin and New York, providing a comprehensive range of services including development, design, support, and implementation of computer software.

BrowserStack’s meteoric rise to becoming a unicorn in June 2021, after raising $200 million in Series B funding at a $4 billion valuation, underscores its impressive growth trajectory. This acquisition is another step in the company’s journey to revolutionize the software testing industry, and we can’t wait to see the exciting innovations that are to come.
