Pune-Based Sports-tech Startup Spolto Raises $1 Million in Seed Funding

Pune, India – Spolto, a sports-tech startup, has recently secured $1 million (approximately Rs 8.4 crore) in a seed funding round led by Andrew Johnston and other investors. The proceeds will be utilized to scale up its services and expand its reach to more urban communities, as stated by the company in a press release.

Founded in 2021 by Safa Soltani and Divesh Nathani, Spolto aims to promote sports development across urban India. The platform provides access to a diverse range of sports, including tennis, swimming, badminton, gymnastics, and new-age games like pickleball. Spolto seeks to make sports an integral part of everyday life for urban Indians by fostering grassroots sports development and recreational skill-building.

With a focus on accessibility and convenience, Spolto intends to become the go-to platform for sports skill development in India’s urban centers. To achieve this, the company is planning to enhance its digital presence and meet the evolving needs of the new-age Indian consumer.

Since its inception, Spolto has established partnerships with over 1,200 coaches and academies across 12 sports in Maharashtra, further solidifying its position in the sports-tech industry. With this funding, Spolto is poised to expand its services and reach more urban communities, promoting a culture of sports and wellness in India.
