Definition of Equity Market
Equity market also known as a stock or share market, is the place where equity trading (LINKED) takes place. Generally, equity markets are of two types: the primary market, where shares are issued for the first time through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), or the secondary market, where trade takes place for stocks which have already been issued. In India, there are two primary equity markets: the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
